Gio-chan! Are you there? [Mayaka's warm voice comes in through the Grumpearl.]
Take a look at this.
[She holds her Grumpearl infront of her pink study desk. It's easy to see from the carpentry and colour that this is not the typical furniture one can find in Bottlecap Bay, and it's still faintly covered in specks of glitter. There's a thick stack of paper filled with drawings and notes, as well as an assortment of art materials Mayaka received during the festive season.
However, the item that stands out the most would be Aegiomon's drawing, which has been placed in a simple wooden frame for display on the desk.]
[No way, that is a whole piece of furniture right there! With a bunch of art stuff! Aegiomon's eyes widen in delight, his little tail wagging when he recognizes his drawing.]
No way, where'd you get that? That's amazing!!
[It's so cool and pink, definitely looks something more from Inori's world than this one. Then he sees it, a sparkle of glitter.]
No wait, let me guess. It came outta nowhere, right?
My desk? Yeah, it appeared the same time as everyone's gifts! [Mayaka replies with a smile. Unlike the rest who announced what they'd gotten, Mayaka hadn't been so forthcoming. It's too personal for her to share, especially because this is the desk where she gets all her drawing done, but she's decided that she can at least tell Aegiomon.]
It's perfect, because now I have a proper place to put your beautiful art. [It's a good reminder of what she wants to be, on the days where it feels tough.
The Sneasel turns her attention fully onto Aegiomon, noticing that he's changed colour since she last saw him.]
[Aegiomon's eyes seem to sparkle hearing that his art is not only beautiful, but that his art was in fact included with extra care. A proper place... Wow, such an honor. This must be how people feel like when they get a work of theirs hung in a museum.]
You really like it that much? I had to be really careful to make sure I got the glitter in all the right places, and uh...make sure none of my fur got into the glue... Heh...
[Which he did, thankfully. That's just how important it was to him. As she mentions his new hue, he can't help but smile as he looks down, as if he isn't constantly seeing his leaf ruff anyway.]
Heh, it's cool, right? Red is way more my color. Although...if I knew I was gonna wake up covered in glitter, I probably wouldn't have bought so much...
Yeah, the fact that you're experimenting with different materials already? I'm still too chicken to do that. [The Sneasel says this lightheartedly even though it's true. It'd been refreshing to see how creative Aegiomon had been with the use of the glitter on top of his drawing. No hesistation. In contrast, Mayaka has been sticking to pencil and ink, and never mixed in other mediums, as if it were some kind of unspoken rule she'd imposed on herself.]
I've tried soooo many baths, and just when I think I've gotten it all out, there's always a few that manage to make it.
[The cost of being fluffy.]
Man, if you know where I can get a hairdryer around here, I'm willing to try it out. I saw a few people getting their cellphones back, so it can't be that crazy, right?
[And then...another idea comes to mind. Bigby had gotten Aegiomon a kite for Christmas, one where he demonstrated his mastery of wind to help make the thing fly. Perhaps...]
[It's honestly really nice to have someone check up on him, and...honestly really easy to take for granted. Where would he even be if he didn't have people like Bigby or Archnemon looking out for him? Probably nowhere good, let's...let's not think about it right now.]
Yeah, I'm doing alright. I'm...a little worried about the Minior, though... It's kinda sad, right? They can't even handle the air or else they just...die.
[Wait, no, is that too depressing? He doesn't want to depress him.]
Um, so...! Did you get your fortune? I was a little too nervous... But! I might try again if Farigiraf is still around. I dunno yet.
[That he even went straight into guardian mode is completely lost on him. But could anyone blame him? Who could have fun while there are literally Pokémon dying out there?]
R-Really? Y-You mean it's all fake? [...phew.] What a relief. For a second there, I was stating to believe it. I mean, if anyone looked like they could hand out bad fortunes, it's that Farigiraf.
[He means that in the best way, though. Farigiraf almost looks like a Digimon.]
[ And yet, he huffs a laugh, cheeky bastard that he is. ]
That guy might look scary, but trust me. All that superstitious stuff... it's sort of like watching a horror movie, you know? Just meant to mess with you and—
[ He immediately cuts off with a short gasp, followed by a solid thud. ]
[Well, that was startling, to say the least. Ugh, this is the one thing he hates about the pearls, not being there to perhaps maybe catch him or...help him...or...whatever it is that happened. It's hard to tell when all he gets is the noise, but it's not like it sounded good.]
T-That was the curse, wasn't it?! It...it really is real!
[ Give him a second to just lay there in his own hubris. And also see where his pearl rolled off to. ]
N-no, I just wasn't looking where I was going. [ Curse? What curse? Absolutely not. He mutters under his breath. ] ... What the hell are they working on here?
[ Some town project this is. No signs or even... a ladder. ] Hm. [ It's not a big hole, but he is smaller than most. ]
He's obviously not hurt that bad, or else he'd be yelling a lot more. Doesn't sound like he's in danger, either. Not looking where he's going... Some sort of work project... Hmm...]
[ Bigby oughta be proud of Aegiomon using his deductive skills. Just what he'd expect from his deputy, but maybe he's feeling a little embarrassed at being found out. ]
... Yeah. Right around town too. Not sure what it's for.
Wait, around town? Weren't there any signs out there to warn you?
[Hmmmm... Aegiomon respects Bigby too much to believe he'd just ignore warning signs like that.]
Are you sure it's something they're working on and not just someone...digging holes? I'm pretty sure there's at least one Pokémon where "dig" is literally in the name.
[ Not that he was looking for them either, but he would've spotted them. He knows he would've. ]
You're probably right but— [ He grumbles, pacing around, trying to find any kind of foothold he can jump off of. ] —they could've done this out in the woods. Away from everyone else.
[ Trying not to loose his cool in front of Aegiomon, but he's still a little peeved. ]
I definitely don't disagree, but what do you even do in this sorta situation?
[Is it against the law to dig holes? He isn't sure.]
It's totally rude, at least. Someone way less durable could really hurt themselves if they fall in. ...Is anyone around? Maybe you can put up your own warning sign? Where is this, anyway? Maybe I can help.
[ Huge emphasis on nice, even if his version of reminding someone to be careful isn't exactly that. He does huff just the smallest laugh. Durable. Yeah, maybe he is, when nothing's managed to kill him yet when he's stuck like this. ]
Mm. Wasn't exactly a busy part of town. It's on the way to the woods, away from most of the shops. [ A beat. ] Could probably use a lift. Think you can sniff me out, kid?
[ Ring, ring. It's not too often she'll utilize the pearls especially after the dream fiasco, but Archnemon's also been indulging in keeping busy since then, too. Unfortunately the festival being what it is and all else going on means she's more likely to need assistance too. ]
Hey. Have some deliveries today, want to come along?
[ She doesn't like to mince words, but she's made it clear she welcomes his company for these sorts of things. ]
[ His enthusiasm is definitely... felt... even if she anticipated that result. Emotions... ]
Well, Leavanny was putting together more suitable cases for the Minior that she needed rushed over to those tending them, and that also put her behind on some of her other comissions.
[ Despite her wincing, she'll flash him a quick "view" of her location, a recognizable storefront for the crafter's area. ]

Red suits you. How'd you get all the glitter off?

Ugh, I haven't yet. I still find a speck or two every now and then.

Or maybe you need a hairdryer or something. [Though it's unlikely that one would exist here.]

Maybe you can ask Akechi or Six-san to make a big gust of wind with their wings!

Or even Bigby! He's got super blowing powers!

Just make sure to do it indoors.

[ It's Bigby's big month of checking in on all of his kids apparently. ]
You hanging in there with all the fesitval stuff going on?

Luckily everyone's been helping 'em out, right? The clinic's doing everything that it can.
[ The clinic is also not a topic he wants to focus on. He clears his throat a bit. ]
Fortune? [ A beat. ] Oh, yeah. That thing. You shouldn't worry about it. It's all just for fun.
[ He's been having bad luck ever since. ]

You bet! Leave all the heavy lifting to me, I got this.
[His little tail wags enthusiastically, so much so that the joy radiates into the pearl feed. S-Sorry, Archnemon...]
...So what are we delivering, anyway?

Well, Leavanny was putting together more suitable cases for the Minior that she needed rushed over to those tending them, and that also put her behind on some of her other comissions.
[ Despite her wincing, she'll flash him a quick "view" of her location, a recognizable storefront for the crafter's area. ]
So we'll have a few trips to make.
